Burberry Limited is a famous brand for accessories and perfume.  In starting, they deal in all type of coats. Burberry is well known as for its trench coat, which was created by Thomas Burberry who was the founder. The famous lines about Burberry by Andrew Collier was “a mainstay in outerwear worldwide, that symbolizes all that is Britain: sturdy and unassuming, equally at home in fine hotels and muddy lanes.” In 1999, company launched Prorsum designer collection to grow up Burberry& luxury status.

 

In 2000, company has 58 owned stores and specialty stores in world-wide. The company is a assistant of the United Kingdom’s Great Universal Stores pic, which has turnover near about 9 billion Dollars. Since 2014, Christopher Bailey is CEO and Chief Creator Officer of company. Now company has more than 500 own stores and 73rd in ranking around the world.

     

Thomas Burberry was born in 1835 and opened his own store in Basingstoke, when he was just 21 in 1856. He used water-resistant but breathable fabric in 1880, named as gabardine, but after sometime he gave original name “Burberry” and replaced it. In 1914, Burberry adapt by war commission to design a suit for officers, in typical conditions of warfare, it resulting in the trench coat.

   

In 1937 Burberry also specially designed aviation garments. Burberry was a family regulated company until 1955, when it was acquired by Great Universal Stores. In decade of 70s, 80s, Burberry tie up with many industries products to the existing British collection such as suits, sportswear, trousers, shirts,  accessories, for ladies, men and children. Under the strict control of headquarters these products are designed and distributed by the sufficient independent retail stores across the world as well as the Burberry stores until 90s.

   

The first fragrance, “Burberry for Men” was designed in 1981. Burberrys changed their signature name to Burberry in 1998. Some famous fragrance like as Weekend and Touch were designed in 2000. After it Burberry reached on fame in the world of fragrance.
